When you munch down on your Original Butter, White Cheddar or Hot Cheese popcorn while watching a movie at home, do you realize you’re eating a snack almost 7,000 years old? It’s true. Archeologists have discovered civilizations in Peru that popped their own delicious treat as early as 4700 BC. Popcorn has seen transformations and delightful improvements over the ages that includes being used as a ceremonial dress decoration in the 1500s, to the creation of Crackerjacks in the late 1800s to unpopped popcorn kernels being packaged and sold in stores just a few decades later.
